This post is Sponsored by Ottilie and LuLu, all opinions and statements are 100% my own. BTW: My nieces absolutely love the products.
My nieces are best friends. They do everything together and always have each others back (for the most part).
While their personalities are different, (Michelle loves music, and singing, and Z.Z. loves nature, animals, and learning) one thing remains, whatever one does or gets, the other wants the same.
Michelle is now a tween and her sister Z.Z. is right behind her (in a year or two). Michelle’s body is starting to experience the changes that young girls go through when they become tweens, stinky armpits, little threads of hair under her arms, her first training bra, and a growth spurt. (Mind you, when we got Michelle a training bra Z.Z., of course, wanted one too, and I mean that child wears it around like she really has something to show under it.)
Michelle’s face is also starting to change, I’m no expert in skin care, but it seems like her skin has become more oily than usual. That’s why when I found out about Ottilie and Lulu Natural Skin Care For Tweens I got excited.
Now, I’m the type of aunt that loves to spoil my nieces. I like to take them out on the town, out to eat, allow them to try new things, and buy them all types of products (now, it’s all about the tinted lip gloss, and getting into my makeup box).
Ottilie and LuLu products were a new thing indeed, and when the girls opened the package, they jumped up and down with joy because they had something “new” to try. Ottilie and LuLu skin care products are designed with tweens in mind and are specially formulated just for tween skin. Tween skin is delicate, unique and in a state of constant change.
As adults we know that having a daily skin care regime is essential to keeping our skin clear and healthy. So why not allow our tweens to have the same option?
Using harsh ingredients found in teen and adult products can damage tween skin, and 80% of the damage done to skin happens before the age of 17. Thank God I wasn’t super girly when I was a child, and didn’t start experimenting with face care products until I was well into my teens.
Ottilie and Lulu’s gentle and effective formulas are filled with antioxidants, botanicals, and vitamins ,which is exactly what tween skin needs. The products are also dermatologist and allergy tested and aren’t tested on animals.
One of my nieces favorite products is the “All-in-one Clean Skin Face Wipes.” The wipes leave tweens skin feeling fresh, clean, and eliminates dirt. The wipes have a soothing rosewater scent, and is gentle on the skin. My nieces use the wipes after playing outside, and after doing extracurricular activities.
The girls like to start their mornings by washing their face with the Morning and Night Gel Cleanser. The cleanser is specially formulated for all skin types, and is all-natural. The formula is oil-free and is infused with organic aloe vera juice and purifying witch hazel extract. The cleanser keeps skin purified and glowing.
They follow-up their face wash with the Morning Pure Facial Moisturizer, or the Everyday Facial Moisturizer & Sunscreen. Both moisturizers nourish dry skin and leaves the skin feeling silky, soft, and smooth.
Oh, where has the time gone. My sweet baby girls are growing up, I can’t believe how fast the years have passed. Here are a few pictures showing their growth over the years…
After looking at these pictures, I realize that starting their skin care regime is just one stepping stone. One day they’ll be in high school, want boyfriends (lets pray they have different taste in guys), want to go on dates, homecomings, proms, want to drive cars, leave for college, and eventually have careers, and their own families.
Thinking that far ahead blows my mind, makes me lose my breath. I can’t imagine my baby girls all grown up. It’s like they grow over night. Right now they are at ages where they still think it’s cool to hang with their aunt, but I know the years of not wanting to talk to anyone are right around the corner. Maybe I’ll get lucky and they’ll still want “Ti-Ti” around.
Until then I’ll continue letting them have sleepovers, cuddle up under me (even though the couch is too small for all of us), teaching them to cook, go on mini shopping sprees, and have spa days.
Does your tween have a skin care regimen? Ottilie and Lulu makes a perfect gift for the Holidays.
